Rarely is design done in isolation you always need to consider your interiors scheme in the greater context of the architecture and the landscape.

Before commencing any project – I would request an entire set of finishes from my client – including those of the architecture, the exterior colours and pavers – so my scheme effortlessly translates from out to in. How an architectural finish performs over time is of course a huge consideration in me specifying it for a client. I of course like finishes to be durable – but also to take inspiration from a natural palette.

Sharing from my little black book – Amber tiles urban surface tile is an incredible product I have recently unearthed and have specified in my coastal project where it runs from poolside to pool house. Impervious to salt and water, strong, tactile and versatile – I have layered it with warm timbers, tactile linens and cool checks to create an urban oasis – that will look great in many years to come.
