“There are many choices available for tiling
indoor and outdoor but the treatment you
get from Amber is a lifetime experience”
We caught up with our most recent #lovemyamber winners the Gupta family, who purchased their tiles from our Kellyville store. Sushil Gupta talked us through building their brand new dream home, and what inspirations and factors guided their design decisions.

What sparked your decision to renovate and what were the main elements you set out to achieve?
We wanted to upgrade from our 3 bedroom home in Stanhope Gardens to something bigger and better as needs were evolving with two growing kids. The main elements we set out to achieve were a home cinema, music room, swimming pool and bigger alfresco dining area, triple garage and high ceilings.
What inspired the design? Did you begin with a vision or did the design
evolve throughout the process?
The design evolved through the process of planning and sourcing inspiration from the internet with our needs and criteria front of mind. We had the vision of what we needed from the outset, and many sleepless nights later it came out very well.
How did lifestyle and family inform the choices you made?
It was difficult to make choices, but worth taking the time. We were passionate about quality and feel of products and finishes used throughout the house and ended up achieving what we wanted from day one.
With so much choice available for tiling what lead you to Amber?
There are many choices available for tiling indoor and outdoor but the treatment you get from Amber is a lifetime experience. The staff is so affectionate and responsible that they made our dream become reality by helping in every step of the way. Amber is like a family where you get the warmth of being looked after along the entire tile journey.
What is the best advice you can offer first time renovators?
First time renovators should approach companies that can take responsibility and make things happen in a timely manner to save costs and headaches with supply. I believe in a saying “cheap is not always the best”, so choose carefully which supplier can stand by you in times of need or warranty issues.
What was your biggest learning from the build?
It wasn’t always easy sailing while building your own project as you are placing many orders and dealing with lots of different trades at the same time, which is time consuming as well! If you can order things beforehand then you’ll have far fewer headaches and a smooth execution of your plans.
How long did the whole process take from planning to completion?
Our house took nearly 3 years from planning to completion, as bigger projects need extra time to finish. We love Amber for supporting us through this journey and will recommend them to every person we know. Keep the good work up guys!
