In most cases a chipped floor tile is best repaired by removing the floor tile and replacing it with a spare (that has been hopefully kept under the house!). If floor tile chipping is a risk then talk to your consultant regarding a full bodies or double loaded porcelain tile as an option.

Chemicals contained in some products can make the natural stone floor dull or even etch the surface. We recommend pH neutral cleaners or those specifically designed for natural stone floors.

Stone tiles, cladding and pool mosaics can be used on feature walls. You can either tile the entire wall or render the wall and use pool mosaics as a highlight.

Yes, you can. However, you need to make sure the original porcelain tiles are sound (i.e. no cracks, the tile is still well adhered, etc.) You need to also make certain there are no contaminants on the face of the porcelain tiles, such as cleaning residue, solvents, skin or cooking oils, etc. If the porcelain tile is bright glazed, hit it with an orbital sander to rough up the finish and allow a better bond from the thinset. Use an unmodified thinset mixed with a liquid latex additive, instead of a thinset that's already modified and mixed with water. The liquid latex additive has more of a latex content and will stick better to the original tile.

Any tile that has been glazed, whether porcelain tiles or ceramic , will not need to be sealed. Some full bodied and double charged porcelain tiles however do need to be sealed. Sealing natural stone tiles and pavers is highly recommended. If you are not sure please ask your Amber consultant.

Amber strongly recommends that all stone be sealed. Sealing helps in the ongoing cleaning.

It depends what you need to remove. For grout stains and general dirt, HDC is a very strong heavy duty cleaner. For removing leaf and grass stains from clay, concrete pavers and stone pavers, a product called 'Bright As' is great for removing stains from organic material on concrete pavers. Both are available at your local Amber Store.

The best option to cut clay pavers or stone pavers is with an electric brick saw, which can be hired from normal hire outlets. Smaller cuts to clay pavers or stone pavers can be done with an angle grinder.

Nearly all the stones Amber sells are suitable use in salt water. In the case of some sandstone an extra process is required but is a one off treatment that should not need to be repeated.

With road base at a normal depth of 100mm, you will need 1.5 tonnes for every 10 square metres, so for 50 square metres you will need 7.5 tonnes. For washed river sand use .75 of a tonne for every 10m2.

Nearly all concrete pavers and clay pavers are suitable for a driveway if adhered to a concrete slab with a suitable adhesive. If concrete pavers are being laid on compacted road base and sand, then most brick shaped clay pavers are suitable, even those that are only 40mm thick. Only some concrete pavers are suitable. Check some of Amber's range or ideally visit a local Amber store.

French Pattern refers to a layout that takes various sized clay , natural stone pavers and floor tiles and interlocks them in a random pattern. There are typically 4 different sizes of floor tiles that are repeated in a French Pattern.

All natural stone floors are a product of nature and subject to variations. Characteristics such as veining and mineral deposits will affect each piece. All natural stone tiles and pavers are unique; no two natural stone floors are alike.
